Nina: 10 pm 2/6/14 I am astounded by the amount of arrogance on Match
Katie:  740 am 2/7/14 I couldn't agree more.  I definitely feel it when dating.  You either get the that or the other totally indifferent hipster type.
Rita: 758 am 2/7/14 I also think the breakdown of social structure means people don't know where they fall on the reproductive ladder.  If you were in a pack or group, traditionally alphas would date alphas, betas would date betas, and it would keep going.  People pair off by their position in the hierarchy.  No one knows where they fall anymore.  I think maybe there should be a universal ranking system that tells men, "you are a 7 out of 10.  Therefore, you should date a 6,7, or 8.  You are dreaming if you are holding out for a 10, cuz they are not holding out for you."
Nina: 910 am 2/7/14 I watched
Kelly: 911 am 2/7/14 Good Job, Nina :)
Rita:  912 am 2/7/14 Watched what?
Nina:  912 am 2/7/14 oops...that wasn't meant for you guys.
Kelly: 924 am  2/7/14 No, now we want to know.  Who else are you texting this early an what did you watch.  Huh?!??!!!?
Rita: 925 am 2/7/14 Yeah
Nina: 927 am 2/7/14 Ok, you caught me I was watching porn!  My sister sent me a video of Emerson laughing, she wanted to know if I watched it.
Kelly: 932 am 2/7/14 That's cute!  Go Auntie Nina!!!
Rita: 954 am 2/7/14 Ha
340 pm 2/8/14 Is it snowing again there?
Katie: 343 pm 2/8/14 Ugh, yes.
Let's go back to Acumal Bay
Rita: 343 pm 2/8/14 Yay!! it's prime season now
Nina: 409 pm 2/8/14 I'm watching the biathlon with Emerson...we're both a bit baffled how this became an Olympic sport...."hey, while your cross country skiing , you should shoot some targets too".
How does one get involved in this sport?  How does one even know it exists as a sport.
412 pm Although the French guy is HOT!
Rita: 412 pm 2/8/14 I think they used to do it on horseback too, b/c I've definitely heard of that.
423 pm Ugh I'm sick again
Nina:  423 pm 2/8/14 Me too....I have another cold
Soraya: 946 pm 2/8/14  My back hurts b/c I slept funny.  In conclusion winter sucks and we are all slowly falling apart.  Also, I agree with Rita's diatribe :)  what the fuck is up with people bringing nothing to the table but feeling like the gems they clearly are not?  I love it when men list off all of these qualities they themselves do not possess but feel a mate should have.  Guess what?  If you're not supportive then nobody is going to want to support you.  Dumbo.
Kelly: 636 am 2/9/14 That last sentence was very well said Roo. Yay :)
Soraya:  811 am 2/9/14 Well thanks!  I like to end my rants with "Dumbo!"
Kelly: I almost sent out a disclaimer that I meant not dumbo.  I meant the full sentence! :) Smarty Pants
Nina: 843 am 2/9/14 Dumbo is the best part...on a side note...636 am on a Sunday!  For Christ's sake Kelly!
Soraya:  854 am 2/9/14 Mwahahahaha!  I work this weekend and now all must suffer!!!!
Nina:  253 pm 2/9/14 Ummm...just got a text from a guy on match "I am available for make-outery."  Have never met, only texted.  Do I text him what I want to say..."does this usually work for you?" or do I just ignore him.  I need a sounding board for my bitchery.
Rita: 259 pm 2/9/14 I would just say, "that's nice.  I'm available for dating purposes only for the time being.  For me, make-outery is a merit based system."
Also, did you give him any indication you were looking for a make-out?
Assume good intent but set clear boundaries.  He's probably trying to flirt and is just bad at it.
Nina: 302 pm 2/9/14 Nope...no make out indicaton
Dating is weird
318 pm That worked brilliantly!  You're my dating guru xoxo
Katie: 325 pm Rita you are good!  If things don't work out at Pepsi you should be the next millionaire matchmaker!  I'd watch your show (and be your 1st client) :)
Nina 331 pm I'd DVR that show!
Rita:  332 pm Ha! Yeah.  I think I'm probably as carzy as that Patti lady, so might be entertaining TV
Though she's kinda super crazy so maybe not
Did that guy ever respond to your text?
Nina: 333pm I sent your response...he replied "oh yes...as it should be."
Rita: 341 pm Ha!  I think growing up around horses influenced how I handle men.  Horses are big and dumb, don't know their own size and they scare easily, so if you don't set the ground rules early on and demand their respect, they can hurt you.  Men are sort of the same way. They are generally well intended (like a horse) but they don't understand what they are doing half the time.  Gotta nicely set them straight the 1st few times--you can scare them if you are too harsh.  However, if they keep ignoring your ground rules though, then they might be too stupid to train or dangerous.
Kelly: 343 pm Fabulous analogy! <3 it!
Katie: 344 pm Well put, dating Yoda!
Nina: 344 pm Fucking Brilliant!
Rita: 346 pm Ha!  Glad all those years cleaning manure taught me something useful
Kelly:  512 pm 2/9/14 Which one of you goofballs rearranged my threads and put baby hands on them??!?
Nina 518 pm Heeeee heeeeeeheeeee!
Rita: 625 pm You just noticed that?
Kelly: 625 pm Yup. Been too busy to quilt for a few weeks!
Soraya:  703 pm Ha!  Can't believe you just noticed those doll hands & the thread!
Kelly:  706 pm Yeah the feng shui was off in there.  I coildn't go in until I resolved it.
Rita: 708 pm Ha!
Nina:  755 pm You know I did that the night of our tub and champers party?
Kelly : 759 pm I figures it was a few weeks.
Rita:  801 pm I was telling them not to fuck with your thread.  I felt bad.
Nina:  811 pm But my mischief desire was too strong.
Soraya: 811 pm I didn't.  Guilt free!  In fact, I take great pleasure in imagining you oing about your business, and finding random doll hands.
Kelly: 814 pm I mean, i found them all at once.  Looked and was like, what the hell is up with these colors?  Oh, they have hands too.  I see.
Soraya: 815 pm I did the hands while Nina rearranged the colors.  We tought you'd notice instantaneously.  But this is a nice little reminder of our presence too. :)
Rita: 419 pm 2/10/14  Ugh, need happy distractions.  If you have any on tap please send!
Kelly: 457 pm Strong Bad
Rita:  500 pm Is that still on?
Nina: 501 pm I have a date with a guy who used the word bodacious!  He's really nice.
I thought strong bad was a cider?
Rita:  504 pm Bodacious?  Sounds like a Kelly word.
Kelly: 504 pm Strong Bow, Nina.  And just go watch some strong bad to make you happy.  I don't know if they're old or new.
Nina:  507 pm He's 49...which means Kelly's vocab is either obsolete or retro fabulous!
518 pm The 3 yr old I watch told me the following "you need to hold my hand so you don't die"..."why would I die Juliet?"..."the cars there's just so many".
Kelly:  540 pm It sounds like a word I woould use, and like it in theory, but I think I hate it in practice.  Perhaps he is just retro fabulous.
Soraya:  951 pm  It's unfortunate, but I don't see it as a deal breaker.
Rita: 1021 am 2/11/14  Yeah, I think he is retro fabulous.
Nina:  1026 am I'll keep our little persona twitter updated.  I'm meeting him tonight at 730.  And I don't think you can be retro fabulous if your old enough to live through it the 1st time.  That's like us wearing flannel and baggy sweaters that I see in stores and saying we're retro hip.
But....he is really nice, like I might scare him.
Soraya: 1040 am Haha, he seems nice.  Let him have his word.  We all have our things.
